Ankara Üniversitesi DTCF'de Fransız Dili ve Edebiyatı bölümünde öğretim üyesi olarak çalıştı. Ankara Devlet Konservatuvarı'nda Tiyatro Tarihi dersleri verdi. Uzun yıllar UNESCO Milli Komite Başkanlığı'nı yürüttü. Bir süre Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı yaptı. Edebiyat ve tiyatro tarihi konusunda kitaplar yazdı, araştırma ve incelemeler yayımladı.
