The Westek 6043BC Touch Pad Dimmer is an easy-to-use option for those who want to be able to adjust the brightness of their lamp without getting up. Simply plug the dimmer into a wall socket and the lamp into the dimmer's slot, then tap the touch pad to turn the lamp on/off or to choose from three brightness settings. The touch pad cable is 8ft long and can be extended further through spade connectors. The dimmer is not suitable for fluorescent or LED bulbs, only incandescent. Positive reviews of the product praised its ease of use, installation and sensitivity to the touch. Some reviewers found the product to be a viable alternative to installing new switches. However, some reviewers experienced malfunctions in less than a year, and one reviewer received a product that appeared to have already been opened.
