Anime Editorial Review
5 Centimeters Per Second [Blu-ray] is a poignant anime film from Makoto Shinkai that explores the emotional and physical distances between people through the lens of young love and separation. The film, structured as three short stories, beautifully depicts the relationship of Takaki and Akari, two school children whose lives are altered by circumstances beyond their control. With breathtaking animation, stunning visuals reminiscent of Miyazaki's work, and a touching score, it captures the essence of longing and isolation. Reviews highlight how it resonates emotionally, drawing viewers into a raw and relatable experience that transcends typical anime storytelling.
