The Black R-Matala serves as a pre-filter to the biological section of your filtration system, ensuring that dirt particles are removed before they reach the important biological components.

It can also function as a support grate for other layers of media, thanks to its sturdy and open design. But that's not all - the Black Matala filter media can also double as a biological filter, providing ample surface area for bacteria attachment. This makes it a versatile and essential component of any filtration system. Installation is a breeze. The R-Matala naturally wedges in place without the need for additional support.

However, it's important to measure the inside diameter of your tank and order the coil size that fits tightly to ensure optimal performance. Cleaning is a snap as well. Simply drain the waste out of your bottom drain and gently pour pond water over the R-Matala.

For solids filtering, you can use a garden hose to spray the filter mats clean - the dirt falls off effortlessly.
